A NEW APPROACH FOR K-MEANS BASED CLUSTERING ALGORITHM FOR ENERGY-EFFICIENT BIG DATA GATHERING ALGORITHM

Abstract
In recent times, communication technology has been growing at a rapid rate, this introduced the
concept of big data. Researchers developed various techniques of gathering big data and its aggregation which
includes different clustering algorithm. However, these algorithms give better performance but still lacks in
some areas of cluster head selection and selection of relay nodes that affects the network lifetime and network
efficiency. Thus, in this paper a novel technique is developed in which parameters are extended (includes
energy, distance of adjacent nodes, centrality of cluster) in order to select an optimal cluster head. This approach
implements K-Mean clustering technique to enhance the process of data aggregation with energy efficiency.
System is analyzed with the help of MATLAB software. Simulation results shows that the proposed system has
increased network lifetime and better performance than the traditional system.
