A STUDY ON PERFORMANCE OF STRENGTH CHARACTERISTICS BY PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF CEMENT WITH NATURAL ZEOLITE AND GGBS

Abstract
A composite material of the Concrete that having its outstanding physical and mechanical characteristics, which mainly helps the business industry like as construction. Despite these benefits, concrete has many drawbacks (e.g. depreciation, ice incursion, and decomposition) including adverse impacts on the atmosphere and technical toughness. In this field of research, the researchers who upgrading the specific properties of concrete to address such disadvantages evolve the most problematic issues but captivating research study. The Zeolites of natural usage in concrete manufacturing that are ideally rendered to attain excellent efficiency and boost the strength, resilience and mechanical properties, as one of the efficient ways of reacting to this requirement. In this paper, natural Zeolite is porous silica-aluminate material and it is used as a supplementary cementious material (SCM). Use of SCM also enhances the performance of concrete. Some of the advantages of zeolite addition is that it reduces the cost of construction and reduction in the emission of CO2.The present study is done in two phases in an initial mix of M30 Grade Concrete, and partially replaced from cement to Zeolite by 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and experiments are used to find the maximum replacement percentage and also achieved the concrete‟s strength characteristics. For the second mix of M30 Grade Concrete, amalgam of Zeolite and GGBS to be replaced partially with the cement by 20% composition of Zeolite constant with 5%, 10%, and 15% of GGBS is carried to find the optimum strength. The optimum strength was achieved with the mix of 20% of zeolite and 15% of GGBS with cement.
