Muhammad Ramli Haba, Ahsan Yunus, M. Chaerul Risal.

Abstract
This article aims to reveal and explain the strengthening of environmental law enforcement in
Indonesia through the environmental judge certification program. This study is a normative-legal research by
using statute, case, and conceptual approaches. Data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative analysis with
content analysis. The results show that the environmental law enforcement through the environmental judge
certification program is followed by the formation of a selection and appointment team for judges, selection
system and appointment of judges, the implementation of guidelines for case handling, the formation of working
groups up to the appointment of environmental certified judges who are required to handle environmental cases
effectively. The handling of environmental cases handled by judges who have been certified by the environment
is more progressive, pro-environment, effective and produces several important decisions in suppressing
environmental cases.
