TO-LOTANG AS A RELIGION IN CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY PERSPECTIVES

Abstract
This research aims to prove To-Lotang's belief as a religion from the perspective of cultural
anthropology. To-Lotang is a religion that exists, grows, and developes in the Bugisland, South Sulawesi,
Indonesia. The data collection method is deep observation and interview participation. Based on the results of
the study founds omeelements as a symbol of are ligion, there is also the trust of the To-Lotang, and the
mediator referred To it a sreligion. The To-Lotang religions believe Go disone, singular with the term Dewata
Seuwae. In there ligion To-Lotang, his devotees believe din the presence of the Messenger of God as a
bearerand religious presenter to mankind. In this religion, there is also religiou sritual through offerings, which
must go through a religious intermediary called Uwa. The legal source consist so ftwo sources of written
lawandunwritten legal resources.Intheeraoffreedomofreform,thisreligionunderwentdevelopment.
