PLANT PHENOLOGY RECOGNITION USING DIFFERENT AI TECHNIQUES

Abstract
In India, agriculture is one of the important sectors contributing majorly to the economy of the country. Advances in recent agriculture include the plant phenology used in precision farming where plants are continuously monitored by using different AI techniques. This has become of substantial importance because of inter annual variations in environment and seasons which are affecting the crops adversely. Due to this reason, developments in continuous monitoring of plant phenology are of much importance for growing the crops and fast crop engineering. Plant phenology is helpful to detect exact changes in plants that helps further to predict the schedule of harvesting, disaster warning, farm monitoring, pest control etc. In this paper, different artificial intelligence techniques as Nave Bayes, support vector machine (SVM), decision tree (J48) and multilayer perceptron are applied to classify different plants in Indian pines dataset which include oats, soybeans, wheat, corn, alfalfa, grass, hay and trees. After analyzing, Multilayer perceptron algorithm is giving highest accuracy than others.
