RARE GRAM-NEGATIVE INFECTIONS, ALCALIGENESFAECALIS AND ACHROMOBACTERDENITRIFICANS ISOLATED IN BRONCHIECTASIS PATIENTS, TWO CASE REPORTS

Abstract
Bronchiectas is patients getting infective exacerbations with organisms like Pseudomanas, Heamophilus are common. It is not common to get rare gram-negative organisms as a secondary infection in Bronchiectasis patients making the treating physician difficult to select the empirical antibiotics on the first day of seeing the patient. Here we report two such cases, one caused by Alcaligenes faecalis and the other one with Achromobacter denitrificans with the varying susceptibility patterns as well as resistance to Antibiotics,but responded to the treatment where fatal outcome is expected normally.They are usually hospital acquired opportunistic infections commonly occurring in immunocompromised patients or like in our patients with an underlying lung disease where the infection was community acquired,which is very rare.
