DESIGN & SIMULATION OF DUAL NOTCH BAND UWB ANTENNA FOR GPS, BLUETOOTH, 3G, 4G, AND CLOSE RANGE RADAR APPLICATIONS

Abstract
In this paper, a novel method for designing a circular shaped antenna with band-notch function performance has been presented. To achieve the removal characteristics of two frequency bands WiMAX IEEE802.16 (3.30-3.80GHz) and WLAN IEEE802.11a (5.15-5.825GHz): U-shaped slots inserted in the ground plane respectively. The antenna has a simple geometry and small structure, its dimensions are 45mm×38mm & it is printed in FR4 material substrate with the thickness of 1.5mm. The simulated result obtained from the antenna shows that it exhibits the bandwidth of 2.54-10.30GHz resulting in fractional bandwidth of 113.28% & omnidirectional radiation behavior during the operation.
