STUDY OF MICROHARDNESS WITH DIFFERENT GEOMETRIC SHAPES OF PATTERN’S IN THE VACUUM MOULDING

Abstract
If air is removed from the sand mass, sand can be lodged in-place. This principle is employed in vacuum moulding process. The „V process‟ has ability to attain enormous dimensional.- accuracy and the surface. finish. In the past studies no or very less work has been reported in past for vacuum moulding solutions with different geometrical shapes of castings. An advancement to macro-model the micro-hardness for dissimilar geometrical- shapes using 3 .different metals has be projected and .were applied. Taguchi L9 orthogonal array (OA) was apllied for consducting the experiments. Results indicate that the significant factor is pouring temperature contributes 99.6% for micro- hardness.
