THE LEARNING SPACE UTILAZATION FOR VOCATIONAL COLLEGE STANDARD CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION AT TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract
This paper focuses on the study to identify the level of learning utilization in the implementation
of the Vocational College Standard Curriculum (VCSC) for lecturers in technical & vocational education
institutions in the northern zone of Malaysia. This study used qualitative methods through interview sessions to
gain data on the level of use of learning space in the implementation of the VCSC. A qualitative study was
conducted to see the level of usability using the Measurement Instrument for assessing the Level of Use (LoU).
This study was an interview which involved 5 respondents consisting of lecturers from the Technical &
Vocational Institution in Penang, Malaysia. The findings shown that learning utilization of lecturers are at the
level of use of IVB Improvement and Integration V. The results of this study can serve as a guide for furthering
the level of learning utilization for lecturers in technical and vocational institutions in enhancing the
effectiveness of learning environment align with technical and vocational curriculum. It is important to ensure
that the technical and vocational curricula are optimized in the capacity of technical & vocational educators or
lecturers to ensure that output products are at a competitive level in meeting global market demand.
