Abstract
The purpose of the study was to find out the relative investigation on designated fitness variables of barathanatya dancers and long distance runners among various school girls from chennai. Twenty school girls aged between 14 and 17 years were selected randomly. Fitness variables such as agility, flexibility, speed, balance and endurance were measured. The value of calculated t ratio was compared with the tabulated significant value at 0.05 level of confidence with 95 degree of freedom. The obtain „t‟ ratio value on the score of physical variables was lesser than the required table value of 2.101, which proved that there was no significant difference on physical fitness variables between barathanatya dancers and athletes among various school girls. Barathanatya dancers have more agility, flexibility and balance than the athletes among various school girls. Athletes have more speed and endurance than the barathanatya dancers among various school girls.

Key words: Barathanatya dancer and Athlete
