THE VARIATION OF USING GAMIFICATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL COURSES AS AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Abstract
The development of education in Malaysia has undergone several phases of change, especially in redesigning the present education system in the current generation. This research is undertaken to study the variation of using gamification in courses relating to environment.. The researchers use the pragmatic approach by combining both the quantitative and qualitative methods. A total of 274 students and 3 lecturers were randomly chosen as samples. Besides, this study measures the respondentsí level of knowledge of the environment. The findings of the study show that there is a significant relationship between the respondentsí general knowledge of the environment with the relevant observation. However, there is no confidence and satisfaction of the general knowledge regarding the environment. The respondentsí level of knowledge of the environment is still low. Generally, Envrionmental Education needs further improvement and is still relevant to be continued in the education system so that the students would gain awareness about the importance of the environment.
