Abstract
Many researchers have attempted to define ethics very precisely. Ethics is rules, standards, codes,
or principles which provide guidelines for morally right behaviour and truthfulness in specific situations. It is a
set of principle that guide a person through what is right and what is wrong supporting truthfulness in a specific
situation. This study mainly speaks about the ethical behavior of an individual and the various factors affecting it
both positively and negatively. As technology plays a prominent role in every aspect of human life, the role of
technology in moderating the impact of these factor on ethical behavior of an individual is also explored in this
research. This research was conducted with a sample of 456 employees from the manufacturing and service
sectors of Delhi NCR. Random sampling technique was used for making the sample. A questionnaire with 30
questions was floated and the data was collected. The reliability of the data was checked through composite
reliability values and Cronbach’s alpha values. The collected data was then analyzed using MS Excel, SPSS,
SmartPLS softwares. Initially the respondents’ profiling table and the descriptive statistics tables were made in
order to understand the collected data better. T test and One-way ANOVA was used to analyze the demographic
factors whereas Structured Equational Modelling of Partial Least Squares was used to analyze the other factors
affecting the ethical behavior. Upon analysis it was found that certain factors had positive impact on the ethical
behavior of a person and some did not. Certain factors such as rules and regulations, morality and personal
values had a positive impact on ethical behavior of a person and other factors such as peer influence,
organizational culture and personal goals had a negative impact. But technology makes most of these
relationships positive. After checking the moderating role of technology in these factors, it was found that except
for morality and personal values, technology moderates all the other factors positively and hence contributing to
the ethical behavior of an individual. As morality and personal values of an individual are intrinsic, technology
has no big role to play in moderating these factors. This study concludes that said “though it was believed that
ethics is something intrinsic to an individual, ethical behaviour of a person is altered by many extrinsic factors
which is further moderated by the role of technology in today’s era”.

Key words: Ethical Behaviors, SEM, AMOS.
