SURFACE FINISHING OF TI-6AL-4V ALLOY WITH CHEMICALY ASSISTED MAGNETIC ABRASIVE FLOW MACHINING

Abstract
This is new approached study to understand the purification of Ti-6Al-4V alloys through a
chemically assisted magnetic abrasive purification (CMAF) process. The CMAF setup was designed and created
in the present work. In the process, the metal is removed by magnetic friction acting on the working piece
without applying chemical breakage, and there are no forces (cutting) on the cutting zone. The current study is
developing adaptations for the processing of Ti-6Al-4V alloy with CMAF by using the Taguchi method. To
evaluate the performance of (CMAF) performance criteria, speed of rotation from 60 to 180 rpm, abrasive
concentrations of minimum 10 - maximum 20% wt, and the working intervals of 2mm - 6 mm are considered.
Surface roughness +. After the Variability of the results are analyzed, we conclude that the probability value of
the speed of rotation is 0.027, which is the most important parameter of the CMAF. For low surface roughness,
the optimal parameter of the chemically assisted magnetic friction finishing (CMAF) is speed of rotational
having 180 rpm, the density of friction is 15% weight, and the workable interval is 4 mm.
