ON THE DESIGN OF DUAL LAYER COMPACT FREQUENCY SELECTIVE SURFACE FOR ISM BAND SHIELDING APPLICATIONS

Abstract
In this article, a compact Dual Layer Modified Jerusalem cross Frequency Selective Surface
(DMJC FSS) is proposed for shielding 2.45 GHz ISM band signals. The proposed FSS achieves compactness
due to the capacitive and inductive loading of the dipole arm structure of JC FSS with the unit cell dimension of
13.54 x 13.54 mm2. It provides adequate band rejection bandwidth of 470 MHz covering between 2.28 GHz to
2.82 GHz. The Proposed FSS also insensitive to polarization and provides stable frequency response
performance up to 60 angles of incident signals. These effective rejection characteristics of FSS finds its
application in shielding and reflector.
