DISCOVERING MALICIOUS INSIDERS IN AND AROUND CLOUD SYSTEMS BASED ON HYPERVISOR TECHNOLOGY

Abstract
For well-organized resource sharing, the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) makes Service Level Agreement (SLA) with every authorized user. Service Level Agreements play an important role in cloud computing. The cloud system with a deceitful management domain, shared with lack of transparency into provider suffers with malicious insiders violating SLA. This work proposes an approach to detect malicious insiders who are contravening the SLA in untrustworthy system to affect and deny the cloud resources. This proposal develops an Intrusion detection system named as Hypervisor Scanner at hypervisor layer, which is designed with artificial neural network (ANN) modeling and trained with Levenberg- Marquardt (LM) back propagation training algorithm. This scheme deliberates the three features for SLA such as bandwidth requirement, memory utilization and storage capacity. The hypervisor scanner component is simulated using matlab and performance is measured in terms of mean squared error and regression value. The performance graphs show that proposed model gives minimum mean squared error value. From the performance analysis it is evident that this system effective, efficient against insiders’ threats. The extensive analysis on the performance shows that proposed component can determine the malicious insiders with high discovery rate and squat harmful alarms.
