A REVIEW ON IMPACT OF LOYALTY PROGRAMS ON CUSTOMER BUYING DECISIONS

Abstract
With rapidly changing business situations and environment, customer satisfaction comes in handy as a priority of every business. When customers are happily satisfied, they tend to share their business experience with their family and friends who becomes ambassadors for the business. Most customers trust mostly what their family and friends recommend as compared to paid advertisements, which mislead customers at times. Customer satisfaction is vital for every business success. The relationship between customers and the business is established once the customers feel appreciated and given several shopping benefits from the business for shopping regularly at their stores and outlets. There are several methods of appreciating customers and keeping them loyal, but my main focus is maintaining and satisfying through the loyalty programs. Most businesses apply this strategy to promote their brand awareness. In order for the program to work appropriately, the businesses must communicate regularly to its customers and updating them on any new change, at the same time updating their new loyal customers what they expect to gain by joining the program. Once customers are treated as top priority for the business, they not only become influenced but, creating their mind influenced on their buying decisions from the same retail store. This proves to improve and boost the business. Therefore, a systematic review on loyalty programs affecting consumers‟ purchasing decisions.

Key words: Loyalty Programs, Customer Decision Making, Customer Satisfaction, Brand, Loyalty, Retail Stores and Customer Retention.
