PERFORMANCE OF TRANSPLANTED SWEET CORN FERTILIZED WITH ZINC SULPHATE

Abstract
This study evaluated the effect of zinc sulfate on the growth, yield and quality of sweet corn. An experiment was conducted at San Mariano, Isabela from May 19 to July 15, 2016 with the following treatments, T1-Control, T2-140-7-0 kg. NPK ha. (RR based on soil analysis). T3-140-7-0 kg ha. + 4 kg ha. ZnSO4, and T4- 140-7-0 kg NPK ha. + 8 kg ha. ZnSO4, T5-140-7-0 kg NPK ha. + 12 kg ha. ZnSO4, and T6-200 kg ha. ZnSO4 laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications.Plants applied 140-7-0 kg NPK ha. And C were taller than the control. Applications of ZnSO4 at 8 to 12 kg ha. Produced taller plants and bigger corn ear. The sugar content of the grains increased rates of ZnSO4. Higher ROI of 284.51 cm was realized in plants applied with 140-7-0 kg ha. ZnSO4.A similar study should be conducted to validate the data and arrive at more conclusive results.
