CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORK BASED APPROACH FOR IDENTIFICATION AND DIAGNOSIS OF BANANA LEAF DISEASES.

Abstract
Agriculture plays a behemoth part in the rise and development of Indiaís national economic
growth and progress. Indian economy is highly dominated by the agricultural sector. Agriculture accounted for
23% of GDP, and employed 59% of the country's total workforce in 2016.But, emerge of various agrarian
diseases effects the productiveness in the agricultural region. It is dire need of today to confront with this
problem and to educate farmers to counter the spread of pests in crops. Hence, crop disease identification and
diagnosis plays a potent. The use of the deep neural network to automatically identify and provide a diagnosis
to crop diseases has aspired in the agriculture field. In this study, convolutional neural network (CNNís) model
has been proposed which performs disease detection of banana plants and cure through images of healthy leaves
and disease infected plants. We proposed deep learning methodology that improve the procedure of clustering
diseases on banana leaves and provide a diagnosis for the identified disease. In this learning, CNN model
training and tests perform using 653 images dataset of banana leaf which comprise of ill and healthy leaves. The
model has been aimed at identifying 3 regular banana diseases. An accuracy of 90.34% reaches using the
planned CNNís model.
