Abstract
People lie for various reasons. Telling a lie can sometimes lead to problems which are ignorable
but sometimes it may result in serious problems. Hence lies must be detected before facing its adverse effects.
Lie detection has become very significant in recent years and applications of lie detection are very useful in
many areas namely, legal and clinical fields. Humans find great difficulty in detecting lies. So, there is a great
need for automating the process of lie detection. In this paper, we have classified the lie detectors based on the
cues from human conversations. We have presented a study on different lie detectors based on Non-verbal cues
which includes vocal cues and visual cues. Accuracy of the lie detectors which are developed based on Facial
expressions, Eye blinks, Speech, Multi-modal features, Hand movements and Head movements are compared
