RISKS PERCEPTION TOWARD ONLINE SHOPPING IN VIETNAM DURING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK

Abstract
Online shopping in Vietnam has been increasing gradually after the Covid-19 outbreak. However, this change is for the fear of disease or will become customer behavior after the epidemic ends and the economies open up again? Hence, this paper tries to discover how online shoppers react to their purchasing action during Covid-19 time in terms of perceived risk perspective. Based on collecting data from 427 Vietnamese online respondents during the social distancing period due to Covid-19, the article analyses the role of Covid-19 as a moderator variable in the relationship between risk group and online shopping. Many different kinds of risks are financial risk, product risk, time risk, delivery risk, social risk, information risk. The result shows Covid-19 plays a moderating role on product risks and information risk. Notably, product risks increase online purchasing decisions with the role of Covid-19 moderator.
In the meanwhile, financial risk and delivery risk do not impact on online shopping significantly during Covid-19 pandemic which is conflict with other previous researches. These findings can contribute to understanding consumer behavior comprehensively, help companies deal with similar situation as well as support the government know how to support businesses effectively in the future.
