Abstract: This research paper delves into the partition of Bengal and its impact on women, aiming to explore the new dimensions of empowerment that emerged during and after this tumultuous period. The partition of Bengal in 1947 had significant political, social, and economic implications, but its effects on women have not been thoroughly studied. The study utilizes a review of relevant literature to identify the research gap and formulate the research question and hypothesis. Employing a secondary data research methodology, this paper examines various historical texts, scholarly articles, and archival records to shed light on the experiences and challenges faced by women during the partition. The findings demonstrate that despite the hardships and tragedies, the partition brought about new opportunities for women to assert their agency and seek empowerment in multiple spheres of life.
